| Honors Transfer Program (HTP) Vs. Transfer Admission Guaranty (TAG) | The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program and the Honors Transfer Program (HTP) are both transfer programs at Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC), but they have some key differences: | |
| TAG | ||
| A contract between a student and a specific university that guarantees admission to that university. Students can apply for the TAG program by starting the Transfer Application Planner (TAP), reviewing the TAG Matrix, and submitting their UC TAG between September 1 and 30. | ||
| HTP | ||
| An honors program that prepares students to excel in academics, leadership, and more. Students in the HTP receive special honors counseling and recognition on their transcript and at graduation. They also receive membership in the UCLA Transfer Alliance Program, which provides benefits like a free UCLA College Library card and cultural event tickets. To become honors certified, students must complete at least 15 units of graded, UC-transferrable coursework, maintain a 3.25 GPA, and complete an honors counseling appointment. | TAG, [HTP](https://www.lapc.edu/academics/honors#:~:text=How do I Become Honors Certified? *,semester you are enrolled in the program.) | |
| Registering Vs. Enrolling | Just because you registered for a class, it doesn’t mean that you enrolled in the class. You need to actually follow through the steps until enrollment. | https://www.lapc.edu/academic-resources/register-for-classes#:~:text=Enroll in a class with permission number. |
| ASO Student Senate | The associated student organization have a student senate. Getting a position in ASO and doing a good job goes on your actual transcript and will help you application to transfer stand out. | |
| It also gives you the chance to meet with the higher level administration of Pierce College, the president, vice president, dean etc. You get to vote. | ||

| If you have more than 9 units you should be able to get a Parking Permit for free. You can pick one up at the “business office” (just search google maps - LAPC business office) | ||
| If less than 9 units then you need to pay for a permit for the semester. | ||
| If you don’t have a permit and parking isn’t free, then you can pay for a “day pass” in the parking lot, or you can park in a neighborhood near campus and walk over. | ||

Just give them the Jewish holiday calendar (linked above) and times as soon as possible. Also look at your exam schedule to make sure there isn’t any conflict. If they give you a hard time let Rabbi Isser know asap and he can get the necessary administration involved to get you the accomodation. | |

| Getting off for Student retreats and programs. | Professors understand that during a semester, active students go on various retreats and programs. to enhance their education and well roundedness. They can usually accommodate you to go on any program you desire, if you give them notice. | |
| Antisemitism | Baruch Hashem there’s isn’t an excessive amount of anti Jewish sentiment on campus, In general Jews are safe, respected and have no reason to fear, But from time to time students experience antisemitism. It can be hard to deal with incident, especially if it comes from a professor, because of concerns about how it might affect your grade and reputation. We recommend report every incident to Rabbi Isser and he will find a way to deal with the issue in a way which doesn’t affect your grades. It’s important that we gather that data, | |
